Guide
Bloodline Assassin - Melee DPS Hybrid Build
Introduction:
This big pp build. Much deeps. Very speed. Woosh and sploosh. Brawler style close quarters build that puts DPS first and utility in close second. Viable in all gameplay modes: PvP, PvE, Solo or Trio. The core mechanics are to ambush immediate threats and then weave out of combat to reset for another ambush in sequence until all targets are eliminated.
Rotation:
This build uses Dual Blades as the primary attack and only switches to Daggers for the utility skill selection.
You want to start by opening the fight with either Sneak or Phantom Shift to close the gap on your target. Try to focus on the high DPS enemies or caster/ranged archetypes that stay towards the back. Allow your frontline tank to engage first before you attack as to distract the enemy team somewhat.
Open with Blade Dance and then use dodges to stay on top of your target as they move away. The bonus move speed stacks along with 5 total dodge charges will allow you to keep moving with your target. When they return damage use Spinning Strike as a buffer to soak up the enemies opening attack on you via Super Armor.
From here the target should be of less health than you and most likely trying to use flasks for restoration. Use a combination of Poison Crow Mark and Shadow Strike to maintain crowd control as well as deny healing flask usage. If you take too much incoming damage and need to break off than instead use these teleport skills to make distance and reset.
If time allows and your team is not suffering you can return to Stealth via Sneak while recovering in between combat and then begin this rotation again on the next most dangerous enemy that is distracted. Try not to become the tank while in 3v3 but instead use opportunity to strike when targets are vulnerable.
I will add additional notes and class specific tips for PvP at a later time. All PvE absolutely melts to this build and you can "one shot" most basic enemies with a single Blade Dance attack. Rotation for PvE combat is similar but instead of using escape tools you just time dodges based on the enemies telegraphing while spam rotating between Spinning Slash and Blade Dance.
Be sure to also carry some utility consumables on you for situational PvP actions. Key stacks are very strong for opening/closing doors mid fight in 3v3. Firebombs can be used as an opener or to deny an area from the enemy team. It also helps to have a stack of explodie bomb thingies for if you get jumped by an invisible enemy as it can quickly blast them out of melee range.
Thank you for reading my guide and hopefully this will help you better survive in Mistfall Hunter as a Shadowstrix class!
Synergies:
- Battle Frenzy / Bloodthirst Frenzy - Allows for bonus DPS ramping when using Blade Dance. Bonus damage stacks combine together and Bloodthirst Frenzy can also be used to reflect incoming projectile attacks back at a target.
- Unstoppable / Aftereffect - Allows for a situational response of Spinning Slash based on the incoming targets attack. This skill can be used to add bonus DPS on hit or can act as a buffer from strong incoming hits via Super Armor.
- Lightweight / Elusive - Allows for immediate repositioning from incoming attacks due to maximum level Dodge Recovery combined with Lightweight which can also be used to feign telegraphed attacks towards an enemy.
- Combat Euphoria / Seeker - Allows for extremely quick repositioning after attacking a target due to the movement speed on hit bonus stacks that combine together. This can assist with either engaging a fleeing target or to escape being hit.
- Poison Crow Mark / Phantom Shift - Allows the ability to lock down a targets dodge movement with Poison Crow Mark while also teleporting inside the enemies range to continue combat. Phantom Shift can be used as an escape tool to move away from combat as well if a reset is necessary.
