Mistfall Hunter Community AMA: Duo Mode, Pricing, Anti-Cheat, and More Answered

·metamist editorial

Bellring Games answered 30 of the community's most-asked questions in the first Gyldhunters' Council AMA, covering Duo mode, regional pricing, anti-cheat policy, crowd-control tuning, loot, and the long-term roadmap.

Matchmaking and game modes

No Duo matchmaking in the short term — Bellring says it would fragment the player pool and hurt queue times across all modes, though a limited-time Solo mode for Brandrgarde is being considered for a future season. Class limits per team (e.g. capping duplicate classes) are being considered once more classes exist, but not yet. Bots are permanent — Bellring sees them as essential for new players and combat pacing, and will keep iterating on bot AI long-term. A season is currently planned to run 3–4 months.

Class balance and combat mechanics

Solo and Trio balance will be tuned from separate data rather than one blanket pass. Bellring is building expert playtests with high-skill players post-launch alongside a live data platform for ongoing tuning, with plans to buff underperforming classes and rein in overperforming ones. The Hammer weapon's identity — slow but devastating — will be preserved rather than sped up. On crowd control: stagger currently can't be canceled except via Breakaway (by design, to keep combat a risk/reward mind game), but Bellring is looking at diminishing returns to fix inescapable CC chains discovered in testing. Shields will not be able to block 100% of damage — full immunity would reward passive play too much — though the gear system leaves room to build toward very high block damage-reduction.

Progression, loot, and economy

Auction House slots increase at launch and the automatic restocking mechanic is being removed. A dedicated gem warehouse is planned but won't make Season 1. Forging time will be optimized, but a full rework or salvage system isn't planned yet. Top-tier gear's most reliable source is defeating Mist Lords on Cataclysm difficulty. Loadouts saving beverage buffs/consumables may ship later this season.

PvE, maps, and endgame

More tasks, Easter eggs, and high-difficulty PvE content are planned across future updates, alongside a pure PvE mode still in development. Randomized terrain generation is in development but won't be ready at launch due to its technical scope. Longer-term challenge modes like dungeon speedruns and multi-floor tower climbs are being explored for future seasons.

Pricing, monetization, and misc.

Regional pricing was confirmed for lower-currency countries, referencing recommended platform pricing plus market conditions. All purchasable content is strictly cosmetic — Bellring explicitly ruled out pay-to-win. A zero-tolerance anti-cheat policy is in place, with bans already issued during testing and stricter enforcement promised post-launch. Seasonal resets (wipes) are confirmed, though some long-term progression carries over. No team damage meters are planned — Bellring wants players focused on team results, not post-match number-shaming. A new roadmap will be published at the end of each season, and more classes and weapons are already in development for future seasons.
