The Mistfall Hunter open beta gave players their first real look at all six classes in action. Here is what the beta data suggests about the launch meta — and what is likely to change.

What happened

Mistfall Hunter ran an open beta on Steam during June 2026 as part of Steam Next Fest. All six classes — Mercenary, Sorcerer, Blackarrow, Shadowstrix, Seer, and Withered Knight — were playable. The beta gave the community its first extended look at the talent tree system, affix crafting, and the extraction loop.

Key details

Shadowstrix was the most-played class in the beta, dominating PvP kill counts

Seer was underplayed but quietly strong in trio compositions

Withered Knight's execute mechanic (Wither stacks) proved difficult for new players to use consistently

Affix balance felt intentionally conservative — expect tuning at launch

What this means for players

The safest bet for launch day is to pick the class you found most fun in the beta rather than optimising around numbers that may change. Build theory will stabilise within the first week as the community maps out the launch patch.
